Waiting to see your GP
The nature of our work as doctors is very unpredictable. Some patients require considerable time to undertake a thorough history, examination, investigation and referral. We sometimes manage emergencies which can arise. We also receive phone calls from hospital doctors and pharmacists about our patients. This can often result in your doctor running late, and we apologise for such delays.
We wish to provide a comprehensive service to all our patients during the consultation.
We will endeavour to keep you informed about any prolonged delays. We suggest that you advise our receptionist of any urgent appointments you may have ( such as collecting children from school). When making an appointment bear in mind that your doctor may run late.
The HSE have introduced a free GP care scheme for children under 6 years of age. We anticipate that this under 6 scheme will make the surgery busier and as a result this may affect waiting times. Thank you for your understanding and patience during these uncertain times of change in general practice.
