All forms of contraception are offered to all ages at Woodview.
We are also part of the HSE Funded Contraception Scheme for women aged 17-35 years of age https://www.sexualwellbeing.ie/sexual-health/contraception/free-contraception/
Should you wish to be referred for either tubal ligation or vasectomy we are happy to discuss these options with you also and arrange onward referral as appropriate .
Cervical Check Screening
We are registered with Cervical Check for cervical screening. This is a HSE funded programme, delivered by our trained practice nurses https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/cervical-screening/
Fertility
We are sensitive to the distress that difficulty in conceiving can generate and we can help advise of the initial investigations that may be required and the next most appropriate steps.
Antenatal/Postnatal Care
At Woodview Family Doctors we participate in the Maternity and Infant Care Scheme. https://www2.hse.ie/pregnancy-birth/pregnancy-care/care-appointments/
Your GP provides an initial examination before 12 weeks and further visits are alternated with the maternity hospital. The schedule of visits may be changed by your GP and/or Obstetrician/ Midwife, depending on your individual situation, such as twin pregnancy, hypertension or diabetes.
After the birth, your baby attends for a check up at 2 weeks and then both mum and baby are seen for a comprehensive 6 week check .
Care for other illnesses which you may have at this time, are not covered by the Scheme.
Crisis Pregnancy
Should you experience a crisis pregnancy, your GP will support your decision making and help you navigate your options at this time.
